    => The vocabulary acquisition model is a teacher guided instructional model that facilitate student's development of vocabulary in a procedural and inductive manner. The acquisition model can support effectivity teaching because, vocabulary acquisition model enable students to attain deep understanding of key vocabulary and also allow the students to develop skill useful for independent vocabulary learning. Vocabulary acquisition model helps to improve students' understanding of vocabulary, which essential to their academic success. There are some benefits of applying vocabulary acquisition model: a) Fosters deeper understanding of specific vocabulary and the complexity and composition of words in general; b) Teaches students to examine word’s morphology and etymology, by learning the morphology and etymology of words, students are more likely to maintain their learning and develop strategies for deciphering and understanding word parts in other situations.; and c) Provides practice in different contexts, this model provides students the opportunity to learn more about vocabulary by experiencing these words in multiple and different contexts.

    => From vocabulary acquisition model, We learn about how to teach Academic Vocabulary and language understanding of vocabulary is important for comprehending content. If student lack understanding a particular word, they may struggle to develop higher on deeper level of the concept.

Thanks for the fifth group answering, I do agree with your statement about "The acquisition model can support effectivity teaching because, vocabulary acquisition model enable students to attain deep understanding of key vocabulary and also allow the students to develop skill useful for independent vocabulary learning. Vocabulary acquisition model helps to improve students' understanding of vocabulary, which essential to their academic success." It's appropriate with Anstrom (2010) and Scarcella (2008) statement that "successful learning across the academic content areas in influeced by students' mastery of academic vocabulary and the language of instruction or academic language".

      I do agree with the answers of your group. By using the vocabulary acquisition model, teachers could encourage and increase students' deep understanding of a certain academic word that significance with their learning subject. Through this model, students will have more understanding about the attributes of word, such as the definition, meaning, synonym and antonym or other things that related with the word.
      In this model, students are trained to conceive their own idea through their own words about the definition of word without having to cares about the teachers' word definition at first.

    1.vocabulary aquistion can support effective teaching because it can activate and increase vocabulary mastery and easily understand vocabulary and can help students to learn new vocabulary. Therefore the use of vocabulary aquisition is helpful in teaching vocabulary.

    2. Using vocabulary aquistion can make young students understand vocabulary, and the use of this method we will apply using the game to be more interesting student learning interest when teaching vocabulary with so much easier to understand with the use of the game.

    5. Well, I actually interested with your answer number 2. Using this model and combining it with games is a good choice. I believe that using games in learning teaching process could bring happiness to the students and the happiness could lead students to enjoy the learning process and gaining more knowledge through active learning and teaching. Also as teacher student (student who learn about educational stuff) it is an obligation for us to make students interested about the subject that we are going to teach.

      I agree that this Vocabulary Acquisition model is really helpful for students. As stated in teaching models' ebook that a clear benefit of Vocabulary Acquisition model is that it helps improve students' understanding of vocabulary, which is essential for the students' academic success. There are several benefit of this model, they are:
      - Fosters deeper underatanding of words
      - theaches students to examine words' morphology and etymology
      - Link to prior knowledge
      - Addresses vafious learners' need
      - Provides practice in different context
      - Promotes transfer of knowledge

    VOCABULARY ACQUISITION MODEL
    I thank you for this occasion. In my point of view, Vocabulary acquisition model is one of model teaching that allow learners to develop and link their previous knowledge or vocabulary deeply. This model consist of some steps as the following:
    - Pretest knowledge of words critical to content
    i.e the teachers asks students to spell and define about one word such as school.
    - Elaborate upon and discuss invented spellings and hypothesized meanings
    i.e students share and explain their definitions and spellings of school.
    - Explore patterns of meanings
    The teacher asks students to explore the synonyms and antonyms for school and the example of using this word suitable with its context.
    - Read and study
    Students read and study songs that use the word school.
    - Evaluate and posttest
    The teacher tests the students on spelling, definition, synonyms, and their own understanding of school.

    I think that vocabulary acqusition model is one of the effectivness model to increase students vocabularry because student allow to get deep understanding to know about the word. Beside of that it can be useful for future because if the teachers know that the student have prior knowledge, the teacher can know what material will be teach for student.

    Answer:
    Vocabulary acqusition model is a teacher-guided instructional model that facilitate students' development of vocabulary in a procedural and inductive manner (Killbane and Milman:214).
    By applicating vocabulary acquisition model , students will have an experience that promote deep analyses of the word in order to explore its meaning by eximining the word's synonims, antonyms, prefix, suffix, an so on. Students will use reference to stretch their learning and make sure they gain an accurate understanding of the word. Therefore, this model will support an effective learning.

    2. What did you learn from this activite that might inform your future practice.
    Answer:
    According to our group, the information that has been explained in the journal will be very needed for us as a future teacher because the acquisition model is the good way to apply in the learning process. This inform us how to plan and manage our classroom later. So the purpose of our learning will be achieved by applying vocabulary acquisition method.

  8. 1. Vocabulary is a basic need for everyday teaching and learning process. Those teaching and learning process aiming to help students enhance their capability in such skills include writing, reading, speaking and listening. Those skills are required to understand the topic or material to be thought. Therefore, one of instruction models that can be applied to support effective teaching is vocabulary acquisition model. The definition of acquisition is different from learning in the term of vocabulary acquisition and vocabluary learning because, the word “acquire” presents the deep understanding by examining the three main activities. Based on Stahl & Fairbanks, 1986, These activities are; first, it is association which involves the ability of connecting the words and itsdefinition and the context as well knowing, the second activities is comprehension which refers to the ability to demonstrate the students’ knowledge of vocabulary by using the word in a sentence or classifying them with related word. The third is generation, it consists of students’ application of the word in novel situation or sentence by defining them by their own word. Because of the reasons above, the vocabulary acquisition model will support effective teaching. Teachers role can be well revealed by planning the teaching vocabulary acquisition model in appropriate way, according to the textbook written by Kilbane and Milman state that there are four section of teaching this model, those are choosing the vocabulary that is essential to students understanding of content, learning the morphology and etymology of vocabulary selected, selecting the resources in which vocabulary occurs with their meaningfull context, and determining how to scaffold the lesson. In conclusion, the word acquisition model is kind of instruction that teach students to acquire the words more than just memorizing.
    2. This kind of instuctrion will be very helpfull to our future practice, because we are students of English education department which aim to be English teacher on the future so regarding to our teaching practice we can apply this model of teaching especially for teaching the English vocabulary to our students in the future especially in 21st century students. Besides, we are preparing ourselves to understand the activities on planning the instruction of vocabulary acquisition model by learning it through discussion and sharing with our peers and our lecturer as well. We prepare to provide learning experience for students to build their critical thinking in understanding wider concept.

    In my opinion, knowing the vocabulary acquisition model, helping me as a teacher in the future to introduce new vocabulary to students in a way that is more interesting and easier to remember by students. This learning model also gives students the opportunity to learn through various examples of a particular vocabulary. This model teaches students to memorize the new vocabulary by knowing more about the usefulness of the vocabulary in various situations.

    Base on our group,
    1. the vocabulary acquisition model ofcourse can support affective teaching because with this model, theacher can be facilitate of student to develop their vocabulary. With this model, teacher teach their student with giving them the new vocabulary and the student will analizing that vocabulary by their prior knowledge. This method will help the student to improve their knowledge and vocabulary comprehention. Beside that this model can develop students' skill in deep understanding such as the memorization of vocabulary items and indirect (kontextual) approaches.


    2. After discuss about Vocabulary Acquisition Model, it informs us that one of some obligations of teacher is giving deep students' comprehention about vocabulary to build foundation of other knowledge spesificly for language, it also can help the teacher to teach the students use the vocabulary that suit with the context.

    Answer : Firstly, I want to state that Vocabulary, is the important thing to teach because It is the essential part of building understanding and comprehension. The more vocabulary students know and understand, the more concept they could see and build.
    In another word, teaching vocabulary or provide vocabulary using appropriate model is important. In here, Vocabulary acquisition model, support effective teaching because this model provide need for students to develop deep understanding of words by exploring the etymology, meaning, and pattern inherent in words.
    This model also will prepare them for the expanding their knowledge of the word as they explore its meaning by examining its synonym, antonym, prefixes, affixes, suffixes, and so on.
    Acquisition model, is the great way in learning process because in this process student do not passively accept their teacher’s definition of words, instead they craft their own deep understanding of the words and considering its complexity and relationship to other words and concepts.

    Answer : I learn that this models could be better way for teaching process especially for the future practice, because I am as a students are expected for preparing student for the 21 century.     2. I am Wiwi satriani, PBI 2. Let me give an explanation about Rezki’s statement based on the explanation of the journal. It means that in vocabulary acquisition model, students engage in carefully orchestrated experiences that enable them to study word and apply them in context. After being assigned words carefully selected by their teacher, Students examine their prior knowledge of the word and hypothesize about its meaning and spelling. Then they work to extend this understanding of the word’s meaning by analyzing the parts of the word and the meaning of these parts. They study sinonym and antonyms as well as its etymology and morphology that is actively engaging in the identification of patterns that naturally occur in both words and language.

    How can the vocabulary acquisition model support effective teaching? Cite specific evidence or references that support your claim.
    Answer: The vocabulary acquisition model can support effective teaching because it can help students in deep understanding of the word studied and enables them to achieve greater success in exploring words in the future. Through this model students will have deep understanding about the things that related to the words such as definition, meaning, synonym and antonym, the etymology and the morphology.
    The importance of vocabulary acquisition is supported by research on reading. Studies suggest that reading comprehension is highly correlated with vocabulary knowledge, whether learners native English speakers or those learning a second language. Francis et al. (2006) contend that “Mastery of academic language is arguably the single most important determinant of academic success for individual students” (p.7). However methods for vocabulary development must be appropriate to the age and ability of the reader to be successful. (National Reading Panel. 2000)
    What did you learn from this activity that might inform your future practice?
    Answer: As the six semester students this vocabulary acquisition model could be applied in theses research as the references.

    Addition for my group, According from Anderson (2001) the vocabulary acquisition model can be utilized when teaching fctual or conceptual knowledge types and stretches student thinking beyong basic levels of the cognitive process dimension the teacher can challenges the students to know more about the vocabulary based what their prior knowledge. The students can communicating between definition word and context word. After that the students can make some sentences by defining the word in their own word.     1. Vocabulary is the important thing in the components of language and to teach vocabulary is not easy. One of the models instruction such as vocabulary acquisition can be effective in teaching vocabulary because vocabulary acquisition can increase understanding of the students. In vocabulary acquisition model, make deep understanding not only with give vocabulary directly but also students are hoped can analyze the vocabulary and examine meanings of the vocabulary. In this activity the students able to know the synonim and antonym of the word. Therefore, the students will have strong memorize.

    When I have read this acquisition vocabulary model, I could find the new model that can help me to teach the students more effectively about vocabulary. This model teach me to give students word based from what their prior knowledge. Students can identifying the word, giving definition the word and give some example based from the word. Therefore the students do not only can applicating in their reality life.

    My opinion about the question number one are with the vocabulary acquisition the learning process will be more effective and more efficient. Where in this model, the teacher rules are teacher asks the student or teacher gives the vocabulary to the student and then the student spell and define the vocabulary to examine their prior knowledge. Beside spelling, the teacher also asks the student about the pattern of the vocabulary. Therefore the student not just know about the vocabulary but also know about the spelling and the pattern of the vocabulary.

The most important are that teaches student a deep understanding which is the deep understanding of vocabulary consist the different activities: association, comprehension, and generation (Stahl and Fairbanks 1986) of the words studied and enable them to achieve greater success in explaining words in the future. When students learn apply strategy for examining the morphology and etymology of vocabulary. They understand critical components for comprehending the meanings and spelling of words. This helps them function more successfully and independently in other learning experiences.

    As we have read at the e-book Teaching Model that explain about the vocabulary acquisition as a teacher-guided instructional model that facilitates students’ development of vocabulary in a procedural and inductive manner, therefore I think that it can support effective teaching because it can allow the student to develop their skill independent vocabulary learning, it also can be use in learning and teaching factual or conceptual knoledge, and it enables them to achieve greater success in exploring word in the future.

    Thanks for the chance, in my mind The Vocabulary Acquisition Model support effective teaching because the teacher in this model will provide some vocabularies that have correlation with the material that teacher want to explain, as I have watched in the video Introducing vocabulary: Ruby the copycat (ReadingIsCool, published on Sep 19, 2007). In that’s video the teacher in the first step introduce some the vocabularies and then how to pronounce the word, and then explain about the meaning of the vocabulary. So the teacher give example about the use of the word in a sentence where the from the sentence the student can guess about the meaning of the words. In addition, Anderson et al, 2001 stated that The Vocabulary Acquisition Model can be utilized when teaching factual or conceptual knowledge types and stretches student thinking beyond basic levels of the cognitive process dimension. It encourages them go beyond remembering and understanding vocabulary-challenging them to achieve deep understanding as they apply the word within context and to analyze its structure.
